Healthy Chocolate Cake

It might seem like the chocolate lover's dream, - to have a healthy and nutritious chocolate cake. We've found a great recipe for you to make a healthy chocolate cake for a birthday using healthy ingredients. The recipe uses standard ingredients such as regular flour, eggs, coconut, sugar and any neutral tasting oil. You can replace sugar with honey to make it extra healthy.

You can make this healthy chocolate cake with chia eggs if you want to make it egg-free or vegan. You also have the option of using whole wheat, white whole wheat, whole spelt, or all-purpose flour – all of them are effective.

There are several options available for frosting. You can use Paleo Vegan Chocolate Fudge Frosting which uses only four ingredients. You just need butter or coconut oil, chocolate chips and vanilla extract with milk. Refined sugar can be avoided altogether. This dairy-free chocolate frosting recipe works for 16 cupcakes in a thin layer (using 1 tablespoon), or 12 cupcakes if you want to be more generous with the frosting.

Other ingredients that you can use are yogurt - Greek and 2% fat content. Use processed cocoa along with baking soda to lift the cake.

The three-ingredient Whipped Ganache is a vegan option that also uses coconut milk, salt and chocolate chips without mixing refined sugar. This Paleo Vegan Chocolate Frosting is extremely healthy and you can slather a generous amount of it on your cake. You can also use this frosting on a strawberry cake or on some vegan cupcakes.

Use neutral-tasting or light olive oil – even vegetable oil, grapeseed oil, canola oil, and other relative oils can be used. You can also try gluten-free baking flour.
